Welcome message

Welcome from the Major of Acqui Terme Lorenzo Lucchini

The city of Acqui Terme, that I proudly represent, is pleased to host, for the second time, the FIDE Senior Chess World Championship, representing a new opportunity to showcase our territory to the world. I thank the Italian Chess Federation for choosing once again Acqui Terme as the venue of the World Championship and with which we build and consolidated a strong bond throughout years and across the organization of many chess related initiatives. I wish a pleasant stay to all the participants, hoping that our hospitality will be appreciated by everyone and will be spread and promoted in the respective countries of origin.

The Major, Lorenzo Lucchini

Welcome from the Organizers: I.O. Cristina Pernici Rigo and Michele Cordara

Dear chess players, it is a great honour for us to host the 27th World Senior Chess Championship (50+ 65+) and we intend to make our very best efforts for the success of this world event. It should be remembered that this event is not just an important competition but also a pleasant opportunity to meet fellow chess players from different countries around the world, keeping up the FIDE motto “Gens una Sumus”, we are one people. As organizers, we welcome everybody to this Championship. We would like to thank the sponsors for their valuable support in making this event possible. We wish all the participants and their families and friends a successful tournament and an enjoyable stay in Acqui Terme.
